When can babies have Green Peas?
Babies can be offered peas at around 6 months, when your baby begins eating solid foods.
Green peas are a nutritious legume that provides fibre, plant protein and several vitamins and minerals. Their naturally sweet flavour is often well accepted by babies.

Is there any choking risk?
Whole peas are small, round and can roll to the back of the mouth before being adequately chewed. For babies who are just starting solids, mash or lightly crush cooked peas to reduce the choking risk. As oral motor skills improve, lightly flatten cooked peas before serving. Whole cooked peas are generally more suitable once your child has developed consistent chewing skills, typically later in the first year.
