When can babies have Egg?
Egg can be introduced once your baby is ready for solids, generally around 6 months. It provides high-quality protein, choline, vitamin B12 and other nutrients that support growth and development. Egg yolk also contains iron.
Egg is a common food allergen. Introduce a small amount of thoroughly cooked whole egg, including both white and yolk, and observe for allergic reactions. Once tolerated, continue offering it regularly as part of a varied diet. If your baby has severe eczema or an existing food allergy, seek medical advice about introducing egg.
Is there any choking risk?
Moderate – particularly dry, firm or rubbery pieces.
