When can babies have Banana?
Banana works well as one of your baby’s first foods from around 6 months, once they show signs of being ready for solids. It’s naturally sweet and soft, and there’s no cooking involved. That makes it handy at home and on the go. It has carbs for energy, plus some potassium, vitamin B6 and fibre.
Pick bananas that are fully ripe, yellow with a few brown spots. Underripe green bananas are starchier, harder to digest and can make some babies constipated.
Is there any choking risk?
Low, if served the right way. Ripe banana is soft and mashes easily. Firm, coin-shaped rounds are harder to manage.Sticky texture may cause gagging.
